Week 1: Briefing & Task Arrangement
We proceed Major 2 with initial Major Project 1 member Jun Jie, Shawn, and Wei Yi and continue to further execute Travel Kaki app. We have and physical and online subject briefing for this week. During physical class, as all my are time clash with exchange program and other class time schedule, I consult alone with UI/UX supervisors, Dr.Wong, Mr.Shamsul and Mr.Razif.
This week
Week 2 - UI Component & Hi-Fi Execution
After consulted with Mr. Shamsul and Dr. Wong, they suggested adding a new flow for finding travel buddies during a trip. Based on this, we decided to execute our connect feature.

3. REFLECTION
Experience
During the entire project duration, I carried out research on AI trends, AI chat flow structures, and affiliate programs. During the execution phase, my primary responsibility was trip planning flow. I always consulted my interview findings and user needs in order to ensure that my solutions were relevant. I also took on the role of project management, where I set project timelines, allocated tasks, and scheduled meetings with my team. Although we did not meet physically often due to time conflicts, we were able to communicate effectively using online communication channels. This experience enabled me to work effectively in a team in a remote team setting.
Observation
I realized that for there to be consistency in a team, there needs to be a design system in place. From a team perspective, differences in design styles and working methods became apparent. For instance, team members had different visual and file organisation styles, leading to inconsistencies in components, layout, and design systems. It was a challenge to align various design preferences, such as corner radius, shadow styles, and auto layout, but it was important for the development of a consistent user interface. I discover the use of Figma Variables in the latter stages of the project but due to initial set up already taken, we did not explore further for this feature, as the set up process is quite rigid which might be wasting time at that stage to reapply all the variable styles.
Findings
This was my first experience in a UI/UX design project, and I learned a lot from it, especially in the areas of project coordination and file management. Althoug our app have address needs for different users, there are still rooms of improvements on ideation and monetising strategy. From a leadership perspective, I realized that I was a micromanager, chasing on all details, which made the process tiring , as I had to handle all the responsibilities of the project at the same time. I realized that I needed to improve my delegation skills and leadership strategies. This was a valuable learning experience, as I was able to learn a lot from it, including my weaknesses and strengths. Lastly, thank you to my teammates for all the collaboration and support in team, it was an interesting experience to work with them.
